The Dream
When Lee and Sue Allison started Goshen Meadows Alpaca Farm, their vision was to create more than just a peaceful retreat — they wanted to share the beauty of alpacas with others. Inspired by the calm and comfort that the animals brought them, they imagined a space where visitors could not only meet the alpacas but also take home something special made from their fiber.
That dream started becoming a reality with the help of a custom-built cabin shell from Quality Storage Buildings.
The Process
The Allisons worked with the team at Quality to bring their store to life, starting with a fully framed and insulated shell. The structure came with electrical wiring (including 220V for a mini split), foam insulation in the walls, ceiling, and floor, and thoughtful construction features — all tailored to their needs.
“They even added special touches like custom transom windows to bring in more western light,” Sue shared. “We also worked with them to adjust the standard window setup to fit our vision.”
From the whitewashed shiplap to the custom cedar countertop made from fence leftovers, every detail inside was designed to reflect the charm and character of their farm.
The Outcome
Today, the cabin is nearly complete and on the brink of becoming a fully operational farm store — complete with track lighting, ceiling fans, and a chandelier for a fun finishing touch. The Allisons plan to fill the space with alpaca fiber products, turning this shell into a meaningful part of their growing business.
“We’re so happy with how it turned out,” Lee said. “Quality took great care of us and made sure everything was built exactly how we envisioned it.”
